In the coming years, the Israeli healthcare system is likely to face the challenge of unprecedented rates of trauma among patients and medical staff.

Therefore, we must take immediate and active measures to promote standardization and modification in the healthcare system. This will enable every individual to exercise their fundamental right to access healthcare.

About the Forum

The Forum was established in June 2023. It comprises 11 leading civil society, healthcare, and academia organizations, aiming to expand its affiliations further. The forum seeks to actively facilitate providing healthcare that is conscious of trauma and its effects on medical treatment seekers and providers.

The Forum operates in several channels to implement the foundations of Trauma-informed healthcare systems:

  • Promoting health and preventing morbidity, extending life expectancy, and improving the quality of life.

  • Gender, cultural, civilian, and national equity.

  • Promoting safeguarding and creating a secure environment.

  • Facilitating trust and transparency in decision-making.

  • Collaboration, solidarity, and reciprocity.

  • Emphasizing control and choice.

  • Focusing on strength, resilience, health, and hope.

We aspire to collaborate with various organizations and other sources, among them healthcare providers, patients, healthcare institutions, and government establishments.

All of the channels above are imperative for establishing and maintaining the change we seek to make in the healthcare system.
